Soul and R&B singer David Peaston has passed away on yesterday. Peaston quickly became an audience favorite on Showtime At The Apollo's amateur competition in the late 80's after initially singing a rendition of "God Bless The Child" and went on to win several competitions on the show.
Peaston was the brother of Fontella Bass, who is famous for her hit tune "Rescue Me" and the son of Martha Bass, who was a member of The Clara Ward Singers gospel group.
