Mixtape Mondays: DJ Nimbus

DJ Nimbus is a name people are starting to become more aware of locally and on the national House music scene. He digs in to do what he does best with one of his latest Deep House masterpieces titled Still Waters Run Deep. As we set sail on a new Record Realm blog adventure, for our maiden voyage we are featuring our first entry for the week of Sept. 5 - 12, by the name of dj NIMBUS to kick off this segment that will feature different DJs that I know from around the world each week.

Nimbus has been making his rounds across the country and the globe tearing up the club and lounge scenes, as well as making his mark at many of the big electronic music festivals spinning deep soulful House grooves, tribal and Afro-House, to taking you back down memory lane with classic 80's and 90's House. He also hit you hard with classic Hip-Hop joints with his partner in crime DJ Burb, for their monthly installment called "Paid In Full". DJ Wonji: Unsigned Tracks

DJ Wonji has become one of my favorite House producers. I listen to plenty of producers in the different facets of the genre, Wonji is that polished gem who proves that he can go in any direction with his own creativity. For a limited amount of time he's offering two free tracks to appreciative fans and followers on his Soundcloud page. "Hold It Down" is a deep warm up track to do some Disco style two-step, then get the party pumpin' and work up a sweat with "Convince Me". Drop him a line to say thanks and become a supporter.

For this segment, we're going to take you on a Deep House ride with Italian production duo Harley & Muscle, who's new track "Love's Peace of Mind" is currently topping a few music charts. Special guest vocalist for this tune is Atlanta based veteran singer-songwriter Christopher McCray, who got his start with Grammy Award winning producer Kerri Chandler. Dezaray Dawn: Over It

With spring being a transitional period to bring about new beginnings, some people have hopes to find new love, while others are moving on from situations that have run their course. Dezaray Dawn has recently released her first single "Over It", that she wrote and produced, from her upcoming The Dawning album due out in June, that speaks on issues of getting past the issues of heart break and breaking up. DJ Roland Clark ft. Robin S: All of Me

To take from the words of LL Cool J..."Don't call it a come-back, I've been here for years.."; the same can be said of veteran vocalist Robin S who topped the dance charts in the U.S. and U.K. with her smash single "Show Me Love" in the early 90's. After taking time off to focus on her personal life, she teams up with DJ Roland Clark for their current release "All of Me" that will drop on April 2nd on Delete Records.

With the deep musical arrangement, with a far east twist from Roland, along with Robin's hallelujah style vocals over the track, this duo gives it reason to be called "Deep House". "All of Me" will seep deep down into you to move more than just your feet. Another prime example of the classics never ceasing. Wonji: Keep Rising EP

Many DJ's will agree with me, i'm sure, that they are thankful to get promo material sent to them, especially when it's spin worthy. In this case, Brooklyn bred, and now Houston based DJ Wonji sent me a bag of treats that feature tracks from his new Keep Rising EP that will be released soon on Kiss My Beat Records. It was hard to choose a favorite, although "My World of House" featuring H. Membrano really grabbed me. I can't wait to toss these tunes in the mix at my next House set. My most favorite deep and soulful house producer is none other than the legendary Osunlade. The way his music flows just seems to make everything he touches and instant classic even before critics can have mention.
