Fatima: Biggest Joke of All [Official Video]

It was so pleasant to hear Fatima when I first laid ears on her voice on Shafiq Husayn's Shafiq En' A-Free-Ka album from 2009. Since that time, i've been hooked. This past summer she released her highly anticipated debut LP Yellow Memories that enlists some great producers, including Eglo Records label head Floating Points. Speaking of Points, here is the latest video of "Biggest Joke of All" that he produced the track for.

Friday Flashback: Wildcookie

We're only taking you back a couple of years this time around with the collaborative effort between Swedish producer Freddie Cruger a.k.a. Red Astaire and vocalist Anthony Mills. "Heroine" is the first single taken from their Cookie Dough album released via Tru Thoughts in 2011, which talks about how the drug has "helped" artists produced some great music while addicted. The duo still has it available as a free download, so get on it. ENJOY!

Fatima: Black Doe

The Swedish songbird Fatima is back in flight again with her upcoming "Family/La Neta" 12 inch on Eglo Records that's due out later this year. Production for all tracks are by British producer fLako, who gave us a preview of "Black Doe" on his Soundcloud page.

Caretta Bell: Growing Painz

Caretta Bell, a young beauty who captured my music heart several years back when I saw her perform at a spot I used to DJ at called Clark's in downtown Houston. Since then, she's been rolling like a tumbleweed in high winds, steadily gaining momentum. (Hope she doesn't mind my Texas humor.) She will be releasing her sophomore project Growing Painz on Coy Records this summer featuring her first single, which is the title track. I'm really diggin' the creativity and cinematography the video captures. Production credit goes to one of my favorite producers, the legendary Red Astaire. Little Dragon: Ritual Union

If you're not familiar with Little Dragon, by all means get familiar. The electro-pop quartet formed in 2006 and represent Gothenburg, Sweden, fronted by the lovely Yukimi Nagano. For their third album Ritual Union, which dropped this past Monday, the group is showing maturity as musicians by sharpening up their sound. I many cases, I feel almost like it's putting them in a box by classifying them as I did in the previous sentence. They display much more than one simple tag with their conglomerate of sounds.

Wildcookie: Heroine

Swedish producer Freddie Cruger (a.k.a. Red Astaire) has teamed up with vocalist Anthony Mills to release and EP tilted Heroine, which is a precursor for their Cookie Dough full length that will be released on February 22nd.
